5 Megapixel Digital Camera

5 Megapixel Digital Camera

I have had very little experience with digital cameras, and very little of it was positive. Up until I got my 5 megapixel camera, I thought that a film camera was the only way to go. This is because I gave up too early. All I had ever used was a camera phone. It had horrible resolution. I think it was something like 2.1 megapixels. It looked so blocky that it was almost impossible to tell what you were looking at.

Now that I have a Canon Powershot 5 Megapixel Digital Camera, I know better. The image is brilliant. There is no other way to describe it. The digital camera has not replaced the film camera yet, but it has come close. Although a film camera still has a better picture, it is not that much better. Most 5 megapixel cameras definitely give old film cameras a run for their money. If the image is not quite as good, it certainly is close. Besides that, the advantages of using a 5 megapixel camera over a film camera are obvious. You do not have to pay for film or wait for the picture to be developed, and you can instantly see what it looks like. For all but the most professional photographers, a digital camera is surely the way to go!

Of course, there is a downside to a 5 megapixel camera. First of all, they are fragile. Cameras in general can be easily damaged, but much more can go wrong with a digital camera. There are a million different ways that the sensitive electronics can get ruined by being slightly jarred or banged around. Besides that, people steal digital cameras all the time. When I first got my 5 megapixel camera, no less than three people tried to grab it from me. Fortunately, each time I had it secured to the strap and was able to ward them off. Even so, I still react with caution whenever anyone walks too close to me if I am wearing my camera around my neck. I don’t want to lose it, after all. It costs a small fortune.

Despite all of these downsides, I think it is still worth it. My 5 megapixel camera has really changed the way I see the world. It is an incredible experience to be able to capture any image that I see. Before, I had to carefully select every image. I never knew how it would come out until I had developed the film. Now I can see it immediately!

Cheap Used Digital Cameras

Cheap Used Digital Cameras

Cheap used digital cameras at good prices. Many people get discouraged when they shop for a digital camera because they think that they have to get the most expensive camera out there in order to get great pictures from it. The truth is that you really don’t need to spend a lot to get a good camera that will do all you need it to do. There are some cheap used digital cameras that you can buy and fall in love with, and you won’t have to have all of the fancy features that are out there if you have no need for them. This is one place you can save money if you don’t have to have every gismo known to man.

Most cameras are expensive due to the mexapixel rating. The higher the megapixels are, the larger your photographs can be. For the most part, cheap used digital cameras won’t have a lot of megapixels, but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. If you don’t need very large pictures you really don’t need a lot of this memory. My camera will print twenty by thirty inch shots, but many people simply don’t have a need for that. I personally do, but if I did not, I would have gone for the cheap used digital cameras. Many of them will do eight by ten inches, and that is the most many people need.

You should be more concerned about the overall quality of the picture when looking at cheap used digital cameras. I had one that was very cheap and I don’t recommend it. It took amazing pictures outside, but if you tried to take some in the house they never came over very well. Though my photo editing software could repair them somewhat, the really cheap digital cameras that aren’t made very well won’t be something you will be satisfied with for your basic picture taking needs.

Instead, you will want to look up some cheap digital cameras online to read reviews from some real people who have the cameras. This is the best way to decide which of the cheap used digital cameras that will work the best for you. You can read what the manufacturer has to say about the cameras, but you can get a better idea of what they can really do by seeing what real folks have to say. That is by far the best indicator to how a camera will really work once you get it home.

Lipstick Camera

Lipstick Camera

A Lipstick Camera is perfect for capturing things that you would have never been able to see with regular cameras. A lot of my friends think that I am paranoid. I live in a pretty nice neighborhood after all, and yet I insist on using the latest surveillance equipment to protect my house. I even carry a lipstick camera with me at all times, just in case I have to surreptitiously catch something on film. But my response is this: why take chances? Why be unprepared? I have had my house burglarized twice, although this was before I moved to my current neighborhood. In my opinion though, it just makes sense to have a lipstick camera with me at all times. After all, no one makes fun of me for carrying mace. Why should I be ridiculed just because I would like to be able to capture any would-be assailant on film? To me lipstick cameras are just a good idea.

And another thing; having small, portable, digital surveillance cameras opens up the possibilities of all kinds of fun. Why, when I go spelunking, I can take my lipstick camera, mounted on my hardhat, and use it as a helmet camera. If I am having an especially good conversation with a friend, no matter where we are, I can capture the whole thing on video – with sound in all – so that we can both enjoy the whole thing later. There is just no substitution for having this kind of freedom, if you ask me. My digital lipstick camera is by far my favorite toy. Everyone should own a lipstick digital camera.

Of course, for the most part, a lipstick camera is really just for fun. The really important part is a closed-circuit TV, or CCTV video surveillance system. Many people like to hide their video surveillance, but I would rather have mine out in the open. That way, if anyone breaks into my house, or even thinks about it, they will know that every move they make will be caught on surveillance camera. I think that this will make any would-be intruders think twice, don’t you? Between that and my lipstick camera, I have to admit I feel much safer than it would otherwise. And after all, that is what spy gear is about. Whether it is a lipstick camera, closed-circuit TV, phone taps, or tap detectors, the whole point is to make you feel safer. If it does that, it is worth it. And besides, a lipstick camera is so much more portable than a security blanket.

Nanny Camera

“Nanny Camera”

A nanny camera can be a great way to keep and eye on your child and your nanny. Who do you trust? Now when I say trust, I mean REALLY trust. For me, these folks are few and far between. I can actually name them without breaking a sweat. My wife, kids, 3 brothers, best friend, and parents. That’s it! These are the select few individuals in my life that I really trust. This brings me to the topic of babysitting. I am constantly amazed at how trusting people are. Where does this trust come from? There’s no way I would let my seven-year-old daughter be babysat by someone I didn’t know very well. So basically they have to be off the list I mentioned. Is this paranoid? I’m fairly certain some people will say so. Regardless, my number one priority in life is to protect my family. It makes sense to be a bit wary. I even keep a nanny camera hidden in my home for when the people I know watch my daughter. It’s my duty to her.

It’s sad when I think about most children and how they’re abused by individuals they know and trust. This happens right under the nose of many parents. And sadly far too many parents fail to see it for a number of reasons. I never want to be one of those parents. You should strive to avoid becoming one as well. Purchase a nanny camera or two for your home. If you use babysitters or have a regular nanny, I highly suggest this. It makes complete sense when you think about it. Clearly you are not there to see what all is taking place with your child. But, you can definitely tune in with a high-tech nanny camera. Some very bad babysitters and nannies have been busted this way. One in particular that I saw on the local news several years back had actually punched an infant in the face because he was crying. This is ridiculous, but there are some terrible people out there to be cautious of. I’ll never forget the woman who was caught on a store surveillance camera, abusing her child in the parking lot. She was striking her in her car seat. Yeah, I’ll bet you remember this as well. It was probably the worst thing I’ve ever watched. Even though it didn’t concern a nanny or babysitter, it shows the importance of these devices. Her child was taken from her after this, and rightly so.

Don’t let it be too late. Our children are the most precious aspects of our lives. To let one be harmed is unthinkable. Take necessary precautions with a nanny camera in your home or where your child is watched. One with audio and visual is ideal.

Used Digital Cameras

Used Digital Cameras

Used Digital Cameras are great for getting a good deal on a digital camera. If you want to get a digital camera, but you don’t have enough money for the model you really want, you should consider looking used digital cameras. You can quite often find a great model for a great price, and it will work just as well as if you had bought one at full price. There are many places to get them, and you do have to take extra time to make sure the one you are looking at is indeed in good shape. You might even want to buy one with a known defect if you think it will be easy and cheap to get it fixed. You should be able to save even more money that way.

One of the first places to look for good used digital cameras might be on eBay. You will probably find hundreds from which to choose, but make sure you read the fine print. Sellers are not allowed to sell something that has a defect without stating as much, and they normally will list all problems with used digital cameras, if any in fact exist. If you are sold a camera on eBay that is not as promised, you should be able to get your money back as long as you have used a credit card or Paypal to pay for the purchase.

Don’t discount reconditioned items when looking for used digital cameras. I have a surround sound system in my house that we bought reconditioned. It has always worked very well, and we have had it for over ten years with no problems. One of the knobs is now not working well, but it has far outlasted its expected lifetime. You may also find that used digital cameras that have been reconditioned will have the same great qualities. These are always sold for less than the retail price, and are a great way to get a good item at an amazing discount.

If you do buy used digital cameras, remember that you may not have a warranty to cover any repairs. You will probably have to send them to the original company to get them repaired if you don’t have a qualified repair store in your area. Don’t worry, however, because you will probably get a good deal on repairs if you go to the manufacturer, and when you do, you know that they are best equipped to know exactly what is wrong and how to fix it.

Waterproof Camera Bags

Waterproof Camera Bags

Waterproof camera bags are great for taking on vacations and capturing moments underwater. As an avid whitewater kayaker and photography enthusiast, I took a long hard look at Waterproof Camera Bags before I finally purchased one. While traveling in New Zealand I had gotten my digital camera wet while on a long, damp backcountry hike. The battery contacts, along with just about every other tiny contact in the camera, corroded. The camera was worthless, as it would cost more to repair than it would to buy an identical camera new. I knew I had to get a Waterproof Camera Bag .

Waterproof Camera Bags come in three general designs. The first is a hard waterproof case lined with foam. They’re often referred to as “Pelican” cases, referring to the best known manufacturer of the cases (sort of like Ziploc bags). These cases don’t allow you to operate your camera while it’s in the case, but they’ll do a pretty good job at keeping it dry. They’re nice for rafting or kayaking when you don’t want to have your camera out while you’re on the water, but you want it bone dry by the time you get to shore. Be sure to trim the internal foam to fit your camera and any lenses or accessories you’d like to keep dry, and make sure the latches are completely closed before you toss the case in your boat. Since most of these Waterproof Camera Bags are heavily lined they do a good job of protecting your delicate device from impacts and grit, as well as water.

The second major type of Waterproof Camera Bags is the soft sided waterproof case. These usually look like overbuilt plastic bags, keeping your camera dry beneath heavy plastic or vinyl and sealed under either a waterproof zipper or some sort of rolled seal. Depending on the material some of these cases allow you to operate the camera while it’s in the case, handy for hikers who want to capture a rainstorm or rafters who want to snap a photo of the next rapid. However, these cases are more prone to leakage or puncture than hard-sided cases, so be careful how much trust you put in them.

Finally, some manufacturers offer custom-designed, Waterproof Camera Bags specifically made for a particular model of camera. These cases, usually made for SCUBA diving, allow for full manipulation of the camera’s controls while sealing the camera in a waterproof case. These cases are expensive and need to be maintained to keep them waterproof, but they’ll keep your camera drier and more protected than anything else.

Digital Camera Basics

Digital Camera Basics

Digital camera basics that everyone should know when purchasing a digital camera. When looking for a digital camera, you may be a bit lost about what you really need. With so many different brands, features, and prices, it can be hard to know what it is you want in a digital camera. You have to decide how much you have to spend as your first step, and then decide which features are more important to you.

Perhaps one of the biggest decisions is how much memory you need. The great thing about memory is that you can buy memory cards for a digital camera that can hold hundreds of pictures. Remember that the higher the mega pixel number is, the better the resulting pictures will be.

Zoom is another important feature on a digital camera. You have to be careful about what kind of zoom the camera features. The Kodak Easyshare z740 has ten times optical zoom. The key word you want to look for is optical. Digital and optical zoom are two different things.

Optical zoom
is true zoom, much like on a film camera. When a digital camera has high optical zoom, you can zoom in on far away objects without losing clarity. Digital zoom, on the other hand, will take the existing picture and crop it, thus when you zoom in on something, you lose quality.

Another feature to look for in a digital camera is the photo settings. Many cameras come with settings that make picture taking an easy experience for those of us with very little knowledge about the art of photography. Settings will allow you to set your camera for fast paced settings, low light settings, and other situations where you camera will need to be adjusted for difficult lighting.

When choosing a digital camera, remember that some come with a video feature. This means you can take short video clips. Some cameras have video with sound, while others just record the video. In most cases, you will need a memory card to record video longer than thirty seconds; otherwise, your camera’s internal memory will fill up fast.

You must think about the power supply when purchasing a digital camera as well. Some use regular alkaline AA batteries, while others require a more expensive type. Lithium batteries are commonly required for higher end models of digital camera. These are more expensive, but you can purchase rechargeable ones to take the sting out of the price.

Overall, finding a digital camera that suits your needs will take a little research. Once you find what you want, you can then search for the best price. Remember that a digital camera is not a good investment if it simply will not do what you need it to do. Be realistic about what you need, and search for the best price so you can be happy with your choice for years to come.

Disposable Cameras

Disposable Cameras

Disposable cameras are great for traveling and taking pictures. My father has an expensive digital camera that takes the most amazing photos you could ever want. He takes it everywhere he goes and protects it with his life. It is rather annoying on family vacations when he’s being incredibly paranoid about its well-being. I completely understand his fears, but I don’t share them. Sure, I own a digital camera. I also own a regular camera. But, when I’m going someplace on a vacation and know that I’m going to be out and about, I choose to stock up on disposable cameras. Much to my amazement several years ago, I purchased one for a beach trip. I didn’t expect the photos to turn out too well, but they turned out to be very high quality. I was hooked. With having a disposable camera, I don’t worry about damaging it. I don’t worry about it being stolen. I can toss it around a bit more carelessly and packed without taking extra precautions. Granted, they don’t take incredibly high quality photos, but I have never had a complaint about them. They even have disposable cameras that you can not only get wet but take underwater with you. I took an underwater disposable camera with me on my Bahamas trip. When the time came to swim with the dolphins and go snorkeling, I got some amazing shots. My only complaint was that sometimes the dolphins would kick up the sand with their swimming and the pictures didn’t always come out clearly. The dolphins playful fun couldn’t be blamed on the cameras though.

More than likely, you have been to a wedding reception that has disposable cameras on each of the tables. Many couples are big fans of having this at their receptions for the candid moments that a photographer doesn’t capture. They want the guests to take photos of themselves and each other, along with other moments that the bride and groom would love to have on film. Getting disposable cameras for your wedding reception isn’t overly expensive. The expensive part comes when you have them developed. The biggest complaint that I’ve heard is that when all of the disposable cameras are collected, there are still pictures that can be taken on each of the cameras. Honestly, that’s not a big deal. Take the cameras that still have room on them on your honeymoon. Take the extra photos of things yourself. Or, just don’t fill them up and pass less for developing less photos. In my opinion, that’s nothing to complain about. There are always moments at weddings that people wish could be captured forever. By having
disposable cameras for the guests, some of those moments can last forever.

Digital Cameras for Kids

Digital Cameras for Kids

The perfect digital cameras for kids. If you are getting cameras for kids this holiday season, I have one thing to say to you. Digital, digital, digital. While it is true that, for certain types of art photography a digital camera is not the best, unless your kid is a professional photographer with a dark room and all, he will like the digital camera much better. Getting kids cameras is like getting kids anything else electronic. You know that they will be able to understand it – probably a whole lot better than you can. The only question when getting cameras, or even camcorders for kids is will they use it, and how much do you want to spend.

I have always found that you really should know your kid well before getting him or her an expensive present. Will it bring a lot of joy to the kids life, or will it just sit unused in the closet picking up dust for the next ten years? I think that when you are buying a camera for kids, the matter is not whether or not it costs a lot of money, but if they will use it. It sends a bad message to get your kid a bunch of expensive stuff that he can just cast aside, but at the same time, if he is passionate about doing something, it is good to support his hobby. You must always strive to balance these two factors when you shop for cameras for kids. Otherwise, you will spend a lot of money that you do not need to, and make bad parenting choices as well.

Of course, there are a lot of Digital Cameras for Kids that will work really well, but will still cost a lot less than adult cameras. You should research digital cameras for kids well, so that you know what it is that you are buying before you get it. Find out what matters in Digital Cameras for Kids , and what does not. For example, resolution is very important, but digital zoom is not really important at all. Some Digital Cameras for Kids can edit the pictures right in camera, but you do not really need this feature if you have a computer that can edit for you. If you research all of these things before you look into getting cameras for kids, you should have no trouble finding just the perfect one. It will be a great Christmas!

Digital Camera Information

Digital Camera Information
Basic Digital Camera Information for shopping for digital cameras. Digital camera information that everyone should know before buying any digital cameras. With the variety of cameras available today, it is really difficult to buy them without finding some serious camera information to show you what features you need and what features you can do without. This is even truer today than ever before, because, in addition to the classic choice of the old analog cameras, there are now digital cameras as well. There is so much digital camera information that it’s difficult to sort through all of it to make an informed choice. But of course, it is always important to adequately research any major purchase, or you are just going to be setting up yourself for disappointment.

In the old days, even up to a few years ago, digital cameras were non-existent, or offered such poor resolution that there was really no point to them. Unless you really needed instant digital pics, you would always be better off buying a normal camera, and all you would have to look at was camera lens information to make sure that your lens had the right diameter and focus to meet your needs. Sure you could look at camera information on polaroids, on different kinds of film, on different brands, etc., but this was all still pretty basic.

Nowadays, as with everything technological, it has become difficult to even keep up on all the camera information, even if all you want to do is to know enough to make an informed choice. There are just too many options. Different digital cameras have different resolutions, different memory formats, different features such as panorama and zoom, different lenses (which requires you to look up camera lens information as well), and dozens of other features. To wade through all of the digital camera information, you practically need to be a PhD!

Of course, ultimately what you really need is a friend who is a tech geek who knows all of the camera information already. That has always been my solution since computers took off, and everyone really does have in their life that one good-natured soul who is obsessed with all of the latest gadgets and willing to share their expertise. Why wade through all of the camera information when there is someone in your life more than willing to distill it into a simple recommendation for you? My tech geek friend, after listening to my desires for what I wanted from a camera, and asking a few targeted questions, recommended a new Cannon, and I have been nothing but pleased with the purchase.
